All new patients have an exam consisting of spinal Orthopedic, Neurologic, and Chiropractic testing. Some patients may need an x-ray to provide a more complete diagnostic picture but not all patients require x-rays.
Once a working diagnosis has been made, the doctor will go over the findings with you and explain possible treatment options as well as other contributing factors that may need to be addressed. Treatment may begin the same day of the exam if nothing else is needed. If the doctor does not believe you are a candidate for chiropractic care, you will be referred to another type of physician for care.
Treatment plans often include Chiropractic manipulation, muscle stimulation, heat/ice, stretching, deep tissue massage/trigger point therapy, home exercises, and discussion of contributing ergonomic factors.
